Feeling too busy for in-person therapy?

Does the idea of commuting to a weekly appointment make you feel even more anxious or overwhelmed than you already are?

And do you feel more comfortable, productive, and secure in the familiar space of your own home?

So much of our lives happen online these days. It makes sense that therapy can happen online too. Whether you prefer meeting virtually or simply don’t have room in your schedule for in-person appointments, you deserve effective, reliable support.

Therapy Her Way is a fully online counseling practice. As a therapist licensed to work with clients throughout Florida, New York, and New Jersey, I will literally meet you wherever you are on your healing journey.

How Can Online Counseling Help?

I specialize in anxiety treatment for millennial women and teens. My clients often come to me because they’re tired of feeling:

  • Anxious, overwhelmed, and always in their heads

  • A need to be perfect

  • Discouraged by unhealthy relationship patterns

  • Incapable of managing stress and uncertainty

  • Conflicted about their bodies

Through online therapy, I help my clients build a toolbox for coping with the hard stuff so they can feel more confident. I use a combination of evidence-based therapy and mindfulness to help my clients feel more in control of their lives, and I can do the same for you.

But Is Online Therapy Effective?

Although virtual healthcare is a relatively new concept, research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. The Center For Health Research has found that online therapy can be effective in treating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues.

In some cases, online counseling might be even more effective. Especially for clients struggling with social anxiety or who have a hard time getting vulnerable in unfamiliar spaces, meeting with a therapist online can significantly reduce some of the worries that come with seeking treatment. Not only does the option of telehealth make the counseling process less intimidating—it helps to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

As your therapist, I will create an open, welcoming atmosphere from wherever you are. All you need is a private space, an internet connection, and a desire to get curious about what your mind and body are telling you.

That said, regardless of the symptoms we’re targeting in therapy, every counseling method I use is effective when done online. Customizing therapy to meet your unique needs, I draw from these approaches as needed to help you navigate your experiences, better tolerate discomfort, and reduce stress:

  • Mindfulness, which gives you a chance to observe your thoughts and feelings in a nonjudgmental way

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you adjust your relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which allows you to recognize when you are becoming overwhelmed so you can course-correct

  • Attachment theory, which helps you understand how you show up in relationships

Accessible, effective treatment is available to you! Working together in online therapy, you can develop the skills you need to tackle the hard stuff.

Still Have Questions About Online Therapy?

What makes you uniquely qualified as an online therapist?

Because I am a millennial woman myself, I have grown up surrounded by technology. I know how to troubleshoot basic issues and how to use software as efficiently as possible. For teen clients, in particular, I am well versed in Gen Z culture—you won’t have to explain to me what Snapchat, TikTok, or a DM is!

How do I prepare for online counseling?

Once you’ve made sure you have some privacy and a stable internet connection, there are a few ways you can make your therapy session even more effective. I suggest putting in headphones, closing tabs, and removing any distractions (including your phone) to help you get present and focused for our sessions.
